Reddit as an AI source: ChatGPT often finds it, but almost never cites it

400 everyday Dutch questions put to ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, three times each. Reddit appeared among the sources ChatGPT found in 46% of its answers, but was 1 of 3,527 source citations. Which websites the chatbots do cite, and why found is not the same as cited.

A measurement of the robots.txt of the 500 most popular .nl domains. The training bots of AI companies are blocked far more often than the search index bots that decide whether a site appears in answers from ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google.
